Located in Medford Oregon USA, we believe that everyone needs to see the world clearly, comfortably, safely and at a reasonable cost. We ship glasses to your address wherever the USPS or FedEx delivers.
We use modern machinery to bring you eyeglasses quickly at the lowest prices you'll find. We specialize in both Rx that require a doctor’s prescription and Non-Rx (also known as OTC) over-the-counter specs that don’t need any Rx. Our lenses are available in tints, transitional lenses that darken in daylight, and blue light protective lenses. They are all custom made in the USA and mounted in your frame, new or used, or you can buy a frame from us. All our lenses conform to the highest ANSI standards. We even do industrial safety glasses.
To get a quick estimate on your price for eyeglasses, frames or lenses, please email us a brief description of what you are interested in and email it to info@oropto.com or if you'd rather text us, send it to (530) 558-1878 and we will answer quickly.

We admit to being a bit controversial and maybe disruptive to the established optical industry. This industry is composed of "the 3 Os", ophthalmology, optometry and opticianry, which are practiced by ophthalmologists (eye surgeons), optometrists (eye doctors who are not surgeons) and opticians (people who mostly make eyeglasses on the Rxs or prescriptions of the first 2 Os.) There is some overlap in these fields, but all are concerned with how glasses are sold to you, the consumer.
The owner of Oregon Optical is William Stacy, a retired California optometrist who learned opticianry while working his way through college at UC Berkeley by grinding lenses for a local optometrist.
As we see it, the greatest need in providing eyecare in the US is that many if not most Americans do not live near any eyecare providers, and those that do are being charged way too much for what they are getting. Unfortunately, the quality of the online and mail order sources for glasses is not good but the very few that have high quality also have high prices.
Another problem is that many eye doctors have become convinced that glasses are not necessary or are even harmful. Although it's true that defective eyeglasses can be harmful, correctly prescribed, selected and well fitte also d eyewear protect from harmful radiation, eyestrain and flying objects such as bugs, sand, sparks and other hazards that are all around us.
So we have decided to bring "glasses to the masses"
